Golf at Villarceaux

The course at Villarceaux is very well thought of (rated 8.4 out of 10 on http://fr.leadingcourses.com), and combines wonderful scenery in the Vexin and a warm club atmosphere - junior club for those with young children, bar and restaurant in the clubhouse which is situated in the ‘Château du couvent’ pictured above.

The section has negotiated with the Villarceaux committee a package which gives us essentially all the benefits of full-time membership for the price of a normal weekday only membership rate.

In 2012, SAC members will pay:

Under the age of 36 pay 825€,

Over the age of 36 pay 1,194€,

for full membership rights at Villarceaux.

There is currently no joining fee or ‘action’ (debenture) to purchase in order to join Villarceaux.

The Standard Athletic Club has an active Golf Section. For a very moderate fee (20€ in 2012), SAC members can join the Golf Section which entitles them to participate in various activities:

  • We have two weekends away each year, and on each occasion we play for the fairly serious Kiwi Cup (net stableford prize) and Dean Trophy (gross stableford), and play a much less serious event on the Sunday. In 2011 we went to Omaha Beach in April and to Le Touquet in September. We will be returning to Saint Saëns (between Rouen and Dieppe) in April 2012.
  • We hold various competitions during the year at Villarceaux. These include two major competitions that that we sponsor which are open to all Villarceaux members as well as our Golf Section members. The Spring Cup and the Autumn Vase are currently scheduled to be held on May 12th and October 13th 2012. We have an annual team match against Villarceaux (the Centenary Cup) which is planned to be held on September 15th, 2012.  In addition we hold our own section competitions throughout the year.

Many of our Golf Section members (30 in 2011) benefit from the long-standing relationship that we have with the club at Villarceaux.
