Congratulations to all the team yesterday after a hard-fought win against UBS (4-3). A good match played in excellent spirit by both sides. Thanks to Max for bring the UBS team and I hope we’ll have you back soon. Congratulations to James Grant for a deserved hat-trick. He is forever indebted to Ian Hellawell for the assist for his third (and match-winning) goal from an indirect free-kick. Notable performances all round but I’d like to welcome Ian Williamson into our fold after a storming match at the back. Great crossing and corners from Diego which led to at least a couple of the goals (it’s all a long way from my end of the pitch). And thanks to William for agreeing to play most of the match for the opposition after they lost a man. Despite my instructions, he played a blinder for them. Andy Schoepperle also deserves a mention after his first goal of the season. For the rest of us, congratulations are in order as we played as a coherent team, with a solid defence, industrious midfield and an efficient chances-to-goals ratio up front. And we started on time.
