The annual Junior Cricket Festival welcomed as its guests parents and children from the British School of Paris last weekend.
Three games were played for under 11, under 13 and under 16 age groups.
In the marquee match, BSP batted first and fairly shot out of the blocks with their opener Alex demonstrating why he had gone close to representative honours in Australia. Under a blazingly hot sun both the SAC bowlers and fielders pretty much wilted in the heat as the BSP score rocketed past 50. But, following an artfully advanced drinks break, they came back strongly. Marshalled well by Joe from behind the stumps, Benoit bowled his best spell for the club in the middle overs and the standard of fielding improved dramatically. Nevertheless, the damage had been done. Faced with a spiralling run rate when they batted, SAC slid to their second defeat of the season. Our thanks to our guests for making the trip, and especially to John Hardy for running such an excellent programme at the school.
