Saturday saw a strong SAC side take to the field in the 3rd leg of the John Hardy Shield with Thoiry already having a 2-0 lead and thereby retaining it for another year. The SAC lost the toss and were inserted which was handy as the some of the XI weren’t at the ground yet.

Yeasin and Praneeth opened and were soon rolling along at a healthy 6-7 an over; Yeasin was first to go caught behind. Next in Sikandar built on the good start with Praneeth falling just short of a deserved fifty on 48. The fall of the 3rd wicket brought Trevin to the middle who struck a quickfire 56 in a partnership of 103 with Sikandar who had also passed his half-century. At this point the SAC were on 205 with wickets in hand and 11 overs remaining, another wicket fell with Rala having a party and dispatching the bowling to all parts of the ground. Sikandar was out next 6 agonising runs short of a century, having played a measured innings and holding the SAC batting together. Thoiry now must have felt they could clean up the SAC tail, but Imran was having other thoughts and figured in a 39 run partnership, scoring all but two of those himself, Thoiry left the field savaged, SAC 320-8 off 40 overs.

The Thoiry response began at a higher tempo than the SAC's and at 44-1 off 4 overs was the home side's total enough? The bowling unit then started to rein in the score until torrential rain came at 15 overs with the score on 84-3 with Thoiry requiring 9.48 runs an over to win.

Match drawn.
