Due to the unexpected availability of the field, a 40 over game was arranged at short notice with SAC member Shakeel bringing together an XI from the Paris cricketing community. 
Nisseem won the toss and elected to bat, the innings started slowly with the opening partnership lasting only 5 of the allotted 40 overs. Not very good soon turned to worse with SAC languishing on 47-7 after 18 overs, what happened next was extraordinary. Anser ensured SAC batted the full 40 finishing on 189-9, scoring 89 not out whilst batting at No 9.
Reigning in and beating an XI with some quality players and defending 50 runs less than SAC would have liked was always going to be a struggle, but the Standard bowlers stuck at the task and the wickets fell in clusters. Unfortunately, not having enough runs in the bank cost the home team and the target was met with 3 wickets and 10 overs in hand.
The result – a 3 wicket victory for Shakeel Invitational XI.
