The SAC Sunday footballers produced their best showing of the season on Sunday morning to beat La Salernitana 5/0 after a very convincing performance. The result is all the more satisfying that this same team destroyed us 6/1 back in November!

This was a very collective result as every single player played his part and we looked like a real team from start to finish. The back 5 - Robin, Alfred, Ignacio, Laurent (aka The Rock) and Gerald (with Dan Crowe replacing Ignacio at half time) were rock solid; the midfielders - Benjamin, Mikael, Paul, Jeremy and Victor were in complete control, keeping the ball and winning duels throughout the game, and Declan upfront scored a brace and gave them all sorts of problems.

The subs were very important too, with Corentin who had to come off limping with a thigh injury, Virgile who fought for every ball in an unfamiliar right-back position, Vassili who gave an assist just after coming on, and Joseph who capped a great performance with a fantastic chip over the keeper.

So all in all, a very positive result and performance, with a perfect mixture of experience and youth. Next season here we come!

(Next Sunday's game is against Les Italiens.)
