A good game today against the British School, who beat us 8-1 when they last played us at the end of January. We were just 11 players, with a large number of absentees, and included two new recruits. British School dominated the midfield and created a number of chances. We were logically two-nil down at half time, after a couple of long range drives. We decided to change tactics and hit balls over the opposition defence instead of trying to play through them. Within five minutes of the restart the change had paid off - an incredible, Istanbul 2005-like three goals from Pascal, all from runs on to delicate chips over the central defenders. The British School continued to dominate possession, despite some crunching tackles from Alex and Paul Willey. And they logically took back the lead, with another couple of goals as they stretched the SAC defence. Another through ball to Pascal on the left of their area, and a few crochets later, he stroked a lob which dropped under the bar at the far post. 4-4. We held them out for the remaining six minutes to claim a well-deserved draw.

A warm welcome to Brian Dwyer (another find at centre-back) and Adrien (great game at left back on his 'wrong' foot) who both played for SAC for the first time today, and Patrick Ullstrom who returned for his second match and bossed the right side of midfield. And a storming return to action from Padraig, before having to leave the pitch after injuring himself in performing a tackle. William linked play neatly on the left, especially in the second half, and was responsible for at least one of the through balls for Pascal. Diego held the ball up well playing up front and was unlucky not to score. Laurent held the right side of the defence together, before taking the gloves to close out the game. But the honours go to Pascal and his four second-half goals (which he may want to talk you through).
