Last night our Squash Team 1 had a great 4/1 victory at home against Quartier Latin with only 4 players! This was the last match of the regular season and Team 1 finished 3rd of their league, their best result for a long time! Very well done! Team 2's game was cancelled and should take place on the 19th of April.
What been happening
Our U-13 and U-11 Footballers triumphed again in tough matches against the British School.
On Sunday, our Footballers had a hard time against VSCI, losing heavily 5-2...
Some Snooker progress has been made. Last Sunday Andrew Taylor and Roland Tchertoff won their quarter-final against Thomas and Simon Lavigne.
On Thursday the first of the Bridge for Beginners series of lessons (given by Anne Raynaud) took place. If you want to know more email Jenny Pratt for information.
What's coming this weekend and after
Tennis committee members are meeting in the clubhouse at 2 pm on Saturday to plan ahead for the 2019 season. Members are welcome to come along and contribute ideas.
Again on Saturday In the Snooker Open Singles, Thomas Lavigne and Roland Tchertoff will be playing their 1/4 final round; James Webb and Emmanuel Bertrand and Antony Parker are set to play their match soon.
Also on Saturday, our Golfers will be gathering at Villarceaux for their second Section Competition of the year, a Scramble à la française.
For those who didn't exhaust themselves last Sunday celebrating St Patrick's Day, (and who remembered to book by Wednesday) there's more fun and games to be had on Saturday evening at the Saint Patrick's Caelí!
On Sunday our adult Footballers play Los Pipos, while our Junior Cricketers play and Indoor Tournament at Morangis. (Please note that the Junior Cricket information page for 2019 has been updated with revised conditions and calendar.)
Next week on Friday 29th there's a Bridge Workshop, with how to play a Forcing 3rd suit (3è couleur forcing) and our valiant Ladies Tennis AFT's team will take on AS Meudon.

The Search is still on for a volunteer Newsletter Editor!
The Club Management is looking for a News Editor whose responsibility is to compile the weekly newsletter from the input provided by Management, Staff, the Section heads and members. The News Editor should be fluent in English, preferably a native speaker. The time commitment needed is a few hours a week. The management would hope for a long-term commitment to the post from the volunteer. Please contact Matthew Curtin () if you're interested.

SAC Junior Football: U-13s and U-11s triumphed again in tough matches against British School. The club's magnificent young lads in red and black came out on top in two hard-fought matches against the British School last Saturday.
On Sunday 17th, the adult football team lost 2-5 against VSCI (SAC goals by Vassili de Rosen and Henry Colburn).
The game on Sunday 24th is against Los Pipos.
In the Open Singles, Thomas Lavigne and Roland Tchertoff will be playing their 1/4 final round next Saturday afternoon, while James Webb and Emmanuel Bertrand and Antony Parker are set to play their match soon. In the Open Doubles, last Sunday Andrew Taylor and Roland Tchertoff won their quarter-final against Thomas and Simon Lavigne.
Last night we held the first of the Bridge for Beginners series of lessons. Next week there's the Workshop on Friday 29th March with the subject of Forcing 3rd suit (3me couleur forcing). Please sign up with Claude Jacques if you haven't already done so.
Tennis committee members are meeting in the clubhouse at 2 pm to plan ahead for the 2019 season, with planning for the club's annual tournament and a discussion on how to invigorate social tennis on the agenda. Members are welcome to come along and contribute ideas.
On Saturday 23rd the Golf Section will hold its second Section Competition of the season at Villarceaux, a Scramble "à la française" at the usual time.
A Saint Patrick's Caelí will be held at the club on 23rd March, with live Irish music with the Lutecia Caelí Band, Irish dancing, food and much merriment.
The SAC has been invited to enter a U15 and/or a U13 team in the upcoming indoor cricket tournament at Morangis on Sunday 24th March. The format will be the same as the very successful tournaments they have organised over the last few years. Playing at Montrouge (luckily under covers) our ALT's acquitted themselves well, but couldn't quite hold their own in the deciding doubles, which could have gone either way - so lost 2-1. The next match is against AS Meudon on Friday 29th March.
