What been happening
Last weekend, the May Bank Holiday Weekend in the UK, was the occasion of the Cricket Section's annual Tour of Kent. They played the Band of Brothers and the Shepway Stragglers on Saturday and Sunday, respectively; and against Smarden CC on Monday. The match against Shepway Stragglers is played each year in memory of former SAC and Straggler member Toby Cox. The tourists lost the Saturday and Sunday games but redeemed their honour by defeating Smarden on Monday.
The SAC's Annual General Meeting should have been held last Sunday, but for lack of a quorum has been reconvened as an EGM on Sunday 30th June. Formal documents relating to this meeting have been distributed through other channels. While every member should have been given a copy of the Club Rules on joining, the current version may be read or downloaded here.
On Monday our brilliant Ladies Tennis ALT's team fought through to the Finals by beating CAM Montrouge away. The final will be in Rueil-Malmaison on Thursday 13th June, but we don't know who the other team is yet.
The Bridge Room is now blessed with 6 brand new bridge tables - so please, everybody, take very great care when moving them about!
