Eric Liddell: Chariot of Fire
This year is the centenary of the 1924 Paris Olympics, when Eric Liddell the Scottish sprinter refused to run in the 100-metre heats because they were held on a Sunday. Instead, he preached at the Scots Kirk Paris in Rue Bayard on the 6th and 13th July 1924. One of the first events commemorating Eric Liddell for his sporting successes and his Christianity (he was a missionary) is a play that featured at the Edinburgh Festival last year, "Eric Liddell: Chariot of Fire" that will be performed in the Scots Kirk Paris on Saturday, March 23rd. There will be two performances by the Searchlight Theatre Company at 11 am and 2:30 pm at the Scots Kirk Paris, Paris, 17 rue Bayard, Paris 75008. Adults 20€, under 16s 10€. Book soon, places are limited, by writing to . (See also http://www.scotskirkparis.com/eric-liddell-commemorations.html)
