Cricket - SAC vs PUC, 9 July 2017

A good win for the SAC cricketers over Paris Université Club (PUC) at the weekend. PUC batted first and made 205 all out. Said Azam Sadad was the best of the SAC bowlers taking 4-25.

SAC’s response was led by an excellent 86 from Thodi Andersson. Jothiprakash Nadarajan (on debut) and Nisseem Burkule both ended on 37 not out, bringing us home for the win with two overs to spare.

Football - "June game" vs Jouy-en-Josas, Sunday 25th June

Last Sunday, our adult football team played its traditional "June game" against Jouy-en-Josas, in Jouy-en-Josas. (Finally losing 4-2)

Harald Auss scored about 30 seconds after kick-off, which must be a SAC record!

Twenty minutes from the end the score was 2-2 (our second goal scored by Charles de Nanteuil); but then our opponents proved to be more resistant to the sun and to tiredness and scored twice to finally win 4-2.

Bravo to Yan de Catheu for captaining the team and to Joris Willey for his great goalkeeping.

Calling all cyclists

Many members would like to explore the beautiful Forest of Meudon and the surrounding area by bicycle using the Club as a base, but don't want to haul their bikes up to the Club all the time.

As a New Offer, the SAC will look after your bicycle for you! (Offer valid from now until the 15th October 2017)

Just ask Frédéric or Mario for details.

Cricket - Kent Tour - 27/28 May

The annual SAC tour of Kent occurred last weekend. It was a successful tour both on and off the field, with some good cricket played and an excellent time had by all. Thanks are particularly owed to our kind hosts, the Band of Brothers CC, Shepway Stragglers CC and Smarden CC, and to tour manager Robin Groom for his organisational expertise. An honourable mention must go to Shravan Kumar and Sameer Shetty for flying all the way from India to join the tour!!

The BCF wishes to thank all the participants in last Thursday's fundraising Bridge Tournament

In the end there were 28 bridgers, who had great fun on the bridge tables, plus 10 who came for dinner. Thanks to their generous donations  € 3.530 were raised, which is very nice addition to BCF funds.

Congratulations to the winners Mary and Remy Cauchard in North-South and Guerin and Leon Goldstein in East-West.

Squash - Season Almost Over

The Season is Over….almost. Team spirit was awesome. People came out despite late plane arrivals, injuries, last minute calls. Sportsmanship was stellar.
