Squash News - 2024/5 summary

What a great year 2024 has been for the Squash Section.
We have been very happy to compete in Division 2 Ile-de-France and have done quite well so far. We also have had the chance to recruit new players and are actively scouting for more players to join our roster and the overall SAC environment. We also have organised a Christmas Internal tournament. Played in a round-robin format it gave a chance for those who participated to get a taste for competitive matches. We aim to produce at least 2 internal tournaments a year (winter & summer) along with the return of the Queen's Cup in 2024 which shall now be the King's Cup from 2025 onwards. It is a possibility that in 2025 we might see a return of a squash team 2, which would bring even more games played at the SAC. There are some ongoing discussions about the squash courts and their maintenance. Finally, the Squash Section has discussed taking some space in the silverware cabinet by the snooker table to exhibit the accomplishments and trophies of the Section through the years. We wish all the members a Merry Christmas and a great 2025 year at the SAC. Cheers!

Squash News - 4 SAC Squash facts

4 facts about the Squash Section to shine in society (and at the bar).
1. An epic end to the 2024/2025.
2. “The opera ain't over till the [...] lady sings” Whilst it may be the end of the season, the SAC will still have some friendly matches to play on Tuesdays.
3. “We need you for the SAC Squash Army!” Someone to take a team picture.
4. “A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse” The SAC section will continue the conversations on the states of the squash courts with the MC.

Squash News - November/December

Another week, another victory for the SAC Squash Team #1. That has meant that the SAC is now in 2nd position in the league thus far this year, with a 3/4 victory. All victories happened while playing at home, and we hope to make this a lasting performance making the SAC a fortress that can't be taken!
We are also keen to invite all SAC members to participate in our internal squash tournament, which will take place on Saturday the 7th of December—3 games minimum guaranteed per player (adults only). The format will be announced after the closing of registrations on 1 December. (See poster in main article.)
Contact Steven Jones ()  to register for the tournament and more information about squash. Cheers!

Children's News: Musical workshops for kids

L’Académie des Petits Musiciens  (https://academiedespetitsmusiciens.com)  will be coming to the club regularly: two Sundays a month for a 1.5hr workshop (from 11 to 12:30) for 3-7 year-olds (as they have previously) during the school year. It will be tied with the English Breakfast and Sunday Brunch so if there is a breakfast or brunch, there will be a music class (but not during the school holidays).
The arrangement is that if a child is signed up for the breakfast or brunch together with a parent they have free access to the 1.5 hr class. If you don’t want to sign up for the breakfast/brunch, it is €25 per child for the class but payment will still be via the appropriate Breakfast/Brunch HelloAsso link.
Basically, there will be a workshop if there is a brunch or breakfast during the school calendar.
Please see the main article for a poster.
