Swimming News - The swimming pools are open
Both pools are now open. Please remember: - No food, drink or smoking in the pool area - Children under 12 must not be left unaccompanied by the pool
...and don't go outside the pool area in bare feet and please cover your swimming costumes.

Teatime at weekends
Teatime is an important cultural and traditional asset at the SAC. Every Saturday and Sunday from 4 to 5:30 PM the House Committee proposes biscuits from UK and other goodies with Janine's help once in a while. Please come and enjoy this traditional teatime along with a nice hot cup of tea.

Bridge News - Next tournament: Tuesday, 23 April at 2:30 pm
The next tournament will be at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, 23 April. We could start off at 2.00 pm by going through a quiz - this time about "Showing the fit after a Stayman" (see here Quiz_20240423.jpg); this includes examples of the "convention 2012" which some of you may not have learnt yet. Please sign up with Jenny, with or without a partner, as soon as possible.

Snooker Coaching - Friday 26 April 6.30 pm
The next coaching session will be on Friday 26 April at 6.30 pm, with Shaunak Khot. (Same evening as TGI - Friday) If you are interested in these coaching sessions one Friday a month and have not yet signed up, contact . Feel free to give it a go, it could be your big break!

TGI Friday fun - next one at 8 pm Friday 26 April
Relax, dance and enjoy a low-key Friday evening once a month; next is Friday 26 April from 8 pm to 11:30 pm. Paddy Sherlock is back and will be there to play for us for the evening with an American fiddle player. Bring something for a sucré or salé potluck. Members free, non-members welcome (10€). Golf Section News: Some dates
This is to remind you that the Golf Section's AGM will take place at 7 pm on Friday 3 May, followed by a dinner by Janine. The Spring Cup at Villarceaux will take place on Saturday 25 May.

Works News - Basketball renovations
The basketball court/tennis wall renovation is now complete, at a total investment cost of €15K - New fence and gate installed last week - New court surface and drainage completed earlier in the winter. We are delighted to see some of our younger members taking advantage of this already. See the main article for some pictures.

Pool News
Following the EGM we are in discussion with the bank about financing options. We are working on options that take account of the payment needs on our existing loans, including the French government Covid loan, which will be fully repaid in 2026. We expect these discussions to be completed this month. If we have the green light, the pool work will take place from October 2024 to April 2025.

Taekwondo News - New sessions
We now have an adult and teenagers (over 10) one-hour Taekwondo lesson on Saturdays at 12:30 pm and a lesson for under-10s at 1:30 pm. The first lesson is free for anyone who wishes to try it. Taekwondo is much more than just a sport. It is a way of life. It instils confidence, motivation, goal setting, focus, Self-discipline, respect for others and confidence in your abilities. Jeanne Darrieus has volunteered to open a new Section: Mini Squash If your children have boundless energy and a desire to have fun, now is the perfect opportunity to enrol them in this adventure.
