Bridge News - 21 May 2024 Tournament

The next tournament we are proposing is on Tuesday 21 May at 2.30 pm, preceded by a quiz at 2 pm and ending with a little cocktail, so do let Jenny or Anne know if you can attend and if you would like us to find you a partner.

Bridge News - 23 April 2024 Tournament Results

The winners of Tuesday's tournament (23/4) in East/West were Nicole (Devaux) and Jean-Paul (Ruzé) with a massive score of 66.25% and in North/South with an excellent score of 58.75% Jane (Brooks) and Yves (Delserieys). Second in NS were Jean (Pal) and Nicole (Doyle) with 53.33% and in EW - Richard and Leon with 50.42% and, on their heels, Claude and Dougie and also Marie-Claire and Catherine (Boyer) with exactly 50%. Golf News: AGM 3 May; Spring Cup 25 May

This is to remind you that the Golf Section's AGM will take place at 7 pm on Friday 3 May, followed by a dinner by Janine.
The Spring Cup at Villarceaux will take place on Saturday 25 May.

 

Squash News - The Queen's Cup is back - 8 June 2024

The 2024 edition of the Queen's Cup Open Squash Tournament will be held on Saturday 8 June at the Club after a long break.
The tournament features some of the region's top players and some of our own. The play starts in the morning, with a final sometime in the late afternoon or early evening.
Come and watch our players take on the best!

Bridge News - 19 March 2024 Tournament Results

Warmest congratulations to Marie-Claire and Pascale - 1st in EW with 65.42%, and to Nicole and Raphael - 1st in NS with 62.5%. Well done also to Joan and Jean-Paul, 2nd in NS with 58.33%, and Lucie and Jean-Francois, 2nd in EW with 52.08%. Thanks to all of you for coming and contributing to the success of the day.

Taekwondo News

Due to the lack of participants, we must cancel the adult and teenagers (over 10) Taekwondo one-hour lesson on Saturdays at 12:30 pm.
Of course, our “regular” one-hour lesson is still held at 1:30 pm every Saturday.
Taekwondo is much more than just a sport. It is a way of life. It instils confidence, motivation, goal setting, focus, Self-discipline, respect for others and confidence in your abilities. Do not hesitate to join us. The first lesson is free for anyone who wishes to try it.

Cricket News - Juniors

Girish Dharmapurikar stepped down as Junior Cricket Coach in June 2023. Andrew Macintyre returned temporarily and will be replaced by existing junior parent Adhavan Manoranjan. Thanks to Grisih for the past 3 and a half years and to Andrew for stepping up during his well-earned retirement. 

Bridge News - Tuesday 13 February Tournament

The next tournament will be on Tuesday 13 February, starting at 2.30 pm. As Jenny is not available, please sign up with Anne Raynaud as soon as possible. There will not be a quiz before and there will not be a cocktail afterwards.

Bridge News - 16 January 2024 Tournament Results

Congratulations to Elise and Anne, 1st in NS with 73%, and Marie-Claire and Edith, 1st in EW with 62.35%. 2nd in NS, Ghislaine and Raphael, who did not benefit at all from the handicap, with 63%, and in EW Jane and Genevieve with 59.42%.
In the main article, you will find the Bridge Section's  "handicap" tournament results and also the answers to the Quiz. The FFB will send the nationwide results of this simultaneous tournament to participants.
Note that the next tournament will be on Tuesday 13 FebruaryQuiz at 2 pm, Tournament at 2.30 pm.
On Monday the SAC Interclub team, captained by Jane Brooks, had a great win against Chaville scoring 18.56 (out of a maximum of 20) - an excellent start to their season in Division 4!

Football News - 19 & 26 November - two wins for the SAC

SAC pulled off a second successive victory last Sunday in a typically physical encounter with the Kerala Tuskers, edging the visitors out 3-2.
Fielding a strong team, SAC dominated large periods of play and might have put more goals into the net with more accurate finishing.
Sunday’s win followed a more emphatic 6-3 victory against the Pascal Gastebois XI the previous Sunday. The two sides were evenly matched until early in the second half, before SAC ran away with the game. More details in the main article.
SAC take on La Salernitana this Sunday 3 December, with kick-off at 10:30.

Football News - 21 October 2-2 against the SSFC from the UK

On Saturday 21 we hosted the Salts Staff Football Club (SSFC), a group of teachers from the Titus Salt School of Baildon, West Yorkshire. The game was drawn 2-2 in weather that was not ideal for spectators! See some team photos in the main article.

Autumn Vase 2023 Results

The winner of the Autumn Vase for the best Nett score was Bertrand Delacroix with 41 points. The best Gross score was made by Dimitri Ansart with 37 points.
