THE BIG REVEAL! SAC REOPENING ON SUNDAY 13 JUNE
Many of you have been asking us for more details on our big Reopening event on Sunday 13 June and we are delighted to now give you the full timetable!
Doors are open from 10 am to 9 pm and we are offering a complimentary glass of bubbly or soft drink for everyone on arrival. At lunchtime, you’ll have the choice of Fabulous Fish & Chips, a Brilliant Barbecue or Succulent Sandwiches for you to enjoy around the gardens.
FOR THE KIDS: There will be a free all-day bouncy castle for kids aged 2 and up, while the inflatable Human Babyfoot is also free and open to everyone over age 6 - adults too! Children are invited to come in fancy dress (there may even be a Disney princess and a Superhero coming to see us…) and a prize will be awarded at 12.30 pm to the boy and girl with the best outfits. We even have a face painter coming who’ll be able to transform your kids into their favourite character or do glitter “tattoos” for older children (please note the small charge for face painting: 10€ to 15€ per child, depending on the design, cash or cheque only).
FOR TEENS AND ADULTS: Registration opens at 10 am for the Mix-in Doubles Tennis Tournament (see details below) which will begin at 10.30 am. Prizes for the best pair!
At 11 am there is a Bike & Run activity organised by Coach Carole for kids not taking part in the tennis (please bring your own bike), and at 3.30 pm there is a Babyfoot tournament organised (the table kind, not human!) with a prize for the winner. Again, the Human Babyfoot inflatable is free and will be running all day.
FOR EVERYONE: at 2 pm we will be holding a sports competition with all the old favourites and for all ages: the Sack race, Egg & Spoon, Parent & Child Wheelbarrow, Space Hopper Race, a Mum/Dad Dash (a good old sprint with a child on your shoulders) and a 4x Family Relay. Since this may still be an Olympic year, there are medals to be won, so don’t forget your running shoes!
From 5 pm, we will have live music for you to enjoy over a glass of rosé in the evening sun. On the bill are our very own Monica & Roland, The Cabbagetown Mystery, and the Delta Mangoes. After a year of lockdown, it’ll be the perfect occasion to let your hair down and enjoy being with friends in the fresh air.
We would still ask you to let us know if you intend to come, just to help us plan ahead. You are welcome to bring plenty of guests, as we all want to see you enjoying our precious Club once again. The sign-up form is via this link and you can change the details at any time: https://forms.gle/ByJ3H9ajFjmJ9Yh28
We’re really excited about the Club reopening and sincerely hope to see you there!
SAC REOPENING TENNIS TOURNAMENT
Calling all SAC tennis players - your Club needs you! As part of the grand reopening of the Club on 13 June, we are running a mix-in doubles tournament, with separate sections for adults and teenagers (12-18) before a grand intergenerational finale. Prizes for the winners.
Registration will run from 10 to 10.30 when play starts. The non-stop tournaments will run to 12.30 before the finals, 12.30-13.00.
Players will get to play with as many different partners as time allows, using the organisers' secret algorithm, in a series of short-sets, no deuces (the deciding point at 40-40). The adults with the most number of games to their name will then face off against the leading teenagers in the finals.
SAC's mostly white dress code and tennis shoes are a must for all players!
