Exceptional Heatwave – Please Follow Official Guidance

Members are advised to exercise extreme caution and to follow the recommendations of the Paris Police Prefecture regarding outdoor activities during the current heatwave. In particular, tennis tournament matches and other organised outdoor sporting events should be postponed wherever possible, as the health and safety of participants must take precedence over sporting schedules. Click here for a notice that provides further guidance.

Heatwave Closing Times

The Club will close at the following times so members can enjoy cooler forest evenings:

* Friday 19 June and Saturday 20 June: Midnight
* Sunday 21 June to Wednesday 24 June: 11:00 pm

Depending on the weather forecast for the second half of next week, these exceptionally extended opening hours may be maintained for a few additional days.

Doors are open from 10 am to 9 pm and we are offering a complimentary glass of bubbly or soft drink for everyone on arrival. At lunchtime, you’ll have the choice of Fabulous Fish & Chips, a Brilliant Barbecue or Succulent Sandwiches for you to enjoy around the gardens.

FOR THE KIDS: There will be a free all-day bouncy castle for kids aged 2 and up, while the inflatable Human Babyfoot is also free and open to everyone over age 6 - adults too! Children are invited to come in fancy dress (there may even be a Disney princess and a Superhero coming to see us…) and a prize will be awarded at 12.30 pm to the boy and girl with the best outfits. We even have a face painter coming who’ll be able to transform your kids into their favourite character or do glitter “tattoos” for older children (please note the small charge for face painting: 10€ to 15€ per child, depending on the design, cash or cheque only).

FOR THE TEENS AND ADULTS: Registration opens at 10 am for the Mix-in Doubles Tennis Tournament  (see here for full details) which will begin at 10.30 am. Prizes for the best pair!

At 11 am there is a Bike & Run activity organised by Coach Carole for kids not taking part in the tennis (please bring your own bike), and at 3.30 pm there is a Babyfoot tournament organised (the table kind, not human!) with a prize for the winner. Again, the Human Babyfoot inflatable is free and will be running all day.

FOR EVERYONE: at 2 pm we will be holding a sports competition with all the old favourites and for all ages: the Sack race, Egg & Spoon, Parent & Child Wheelbarrow, Space Hopper Race, a Mum/Dad Dash (a good old sprint with a child on your shoulders) and a 4x Family Relay. Since this may still be an Olympic year, there are medals to be won, so don’t forget your running shoes!

From 5 pm, we will have live music for you to enjoy over a glass of rosé in the evening sun. On the bill are our very own Monica & Roland, The Cabbagetown Mystery and Delta Mango. After a year of lockdown, it’ll be the perfect occasion to let your hair down and enjoy being with friends in the fresh air.

Thanks to an overwhelming show of support for the Club, registrations for the Reopening Party on Sunday have hugely exceeded our expectations and we are now obliged to stop registrations and we can no longer allow entry to unregistered Guests, particularly given the Covid protocols. If you have already registered Guests, they will be allowed in, but otherwise, entrance will be limited to existing SAC Members only.

We’re really excited about the Club reopening and sincerely hope to see you there!
