Lewis Hammond's Flying Fishes Choir
The Flying Fishes, and their conductor Lewis Hammond, present a new programme of French songs from the sixteenth and twentieth centuries.
A wintery path of music awaits, with compositions from the first half of the previous century by Francis Poulenc (Un soir de neige) and Claude Debussy (Trois Chansons de Charles d'Orléans), of which the third song is the appropriately seasonal "Yver, vous n'estes qu'un villain."
The programme is complemented by Poulenc's lively "Chansons françaises" and a selection of sixteenth-century chansons from the golden age of the French Renaissance.
