Coronavirus: COVID-19 latest


At the Standard Athletic Club, we will keep the main entrance open to access the tennis court but the bar will be closed. The clubhouse will remain open but members are requested to respect the Government Recommendations.
Only outdoor facilities or activities for children may remain open; though the Gym Rom may be used subject to restrictions.
Every person entering the club should use their badge on the entrance door to allow tracking.

No more than six persons at a table.
Wear a mask at all times, indoors and outdoors.
The changing rooms are temporarily closed.
Respect the maximum number of people allowed in the clubhouse - 30.
Respect the ‘gestes barrières’ and social distancing.
In general, the Government has requested that people limit their movements to the strict minimum, we hope that members will take this into account.

On Saturday 18 July playing against LFP CC, the SACC registered its first win of the season.

After choosing to bat, the opposition soon found itself at 3wkts down for 5 runs. Imran, our new addition of the season, bowled out his 8 overs keeping the opposition’s run rate in check and taking 4 wickets in the process. Shakeel, Rajat & Nisseem shared another 4 wickets between them, which meant the opposition found itself 8 down for 90 runs at the 20-over drinks break. Some good hitting from the opposition No.8, Mohammad, who ended up scoring a great rearguard century for LFP meant the opposition ended their innings with a respectable 168. Thodi & Amarjith took 1 wicket each to clean up the tail for SAC

In the chase, SAC’s opening pair of Thodi & Malith, who was playing his first game at SAC, made light work of the target. Some clean hitting from both the openers saw SAC score at a Run Rate of more than 10. Thodi retired on 74 followed by Malith who retired on 54. SACC was cruising at 140 for the loss of 1 wkt at the drinks break. After losing the wicket of Tariq after the break, Mansoor & Amarjith made sure SAC didn't lose any more wickets as they reached their target of 169.

With the ongoing Covid crisis, SACC took all the necessary precautions provided by the French Federation of Baseball & Softball during the game. No common Teas, everyone has an assigned water bottle, each bowler sanitizes his hands after each over, a sanitization break for all the players on the field after 30 mins with umpires carrying hand sanitizers, No sweat / saliva on the ball, among other precautions.
