The Cricket Section was invited to compete in a triangular series taking on a team from London, Royal Tigers or as they later became known, the Tiger Kings! and the Derbyshire CC Academy.
Disaster, a theme of the trip, struck before the wheels left the Orly tarmac, as the playing XI was reduced to 9.

Standard Athletic took this all in their stride and managed not to lose 25% of the four games, never being bowled out and improving on our score with each innings. There were some great personal performances, Henry with bat and ball, Chris with the bat, Aditya in the field almost Jonty Rhodes like and the champagne moment of the tournament, a hat trick against Derbyshire from our new recruit Gaurav.

The team played the tournament in the right way. As a team a good time was had by all, so much so a pre-season is in the planning for 2023. The final financial disaster with a rental vehicle is best left unmentioned.
