SAC-Kerala football matches are always closely contested games and last Sunday’s fixture was no different, with the visitors seeing off sustained pressure from SAC for much of the match to clinch victory after netting two early goals.

The home team lacked finishing power and wasted some good opportunities — perhaps the best falling to Ignacio and Valentin — which would have capitalised on an improved midfield performance thanks to Henry and Madiouma, with Gerald and Alex holding the defence together. Kerala were typically physical and well-organised and held on to their lead with determination.
