SAC finds the winning touch against Pascal Gastebois XI

SAC ended a long losing streak in emphatic fashion with a 5-1 victory over Pascal Gastebois’s spirited XI on Sunday.

The pick of the goals was a Messi-like strike from SAC’s Fred Appert. Madiouma, Lucien Wisman and Henry Colburn, with a double, also made it onto the scoresheet. The margin of victory would have been wider still if Ignacio Aguirre, Rhys Parkin and Elias Appert had been on target in the closing stages.

SAC’s dominance reflected the increasingly assured team play of recent matches. It all came together in the warmer, drier playing conditions, with a robust performance in midfield and solid defence - Valentin Mignot, Gerald Strouts, Alex Curtin - which gave goalkeeper Rich Parkin’s nerves a rest and kept the visitors on the back foot for much of the second half. As for a clean sheet for Rich? It’s coming, Rich. It’s coming.

Matches resume in March after the February school holidays.
