Dear all,
With summer in full sweltering swing, don’t forget to sign up for Saturday’s White Dinner — three-course BBQ meal, glass of wine included - by visiting this HelloAsso link: SAC White Dinner 2026. The deadline is Friday night.
The dinner will follow a cocktail at around 6 pm for all the participants in this year’s Club tennis tournament, which is in its final stages — but which we won’t be able to finish on time by Saturday.
Many players have had trouble arranging matches — and the Tennis Committee has been too lenient in allowing extra time — while the extra-hot weather of the past week has made organising matches even more difficult.
Here is the state of play in the tournament:
Men’s singles - semi-finals:
- Simon Lavigne against the winner of Auguste Effroy and Philippe Vignal
- Benjamin Sharp vs Matthew Curtin (match Tuesday evening)
Men’s doubles - semi-finals:
- Melvyn Cook & Philippe Vignal vs winners of Curtin/Tchertoff vs Block-Escoffier/Darrieus
- Raphael Imbert & Paul Rebaud vs winners Lavigne/Lavigne vs Paquier-Paquier
Mixed doubles - final
- Clothilde & Arnaud Paquier vs Pam Duffin & Matthew Curtin
Ladies singles
- most matches unplayed
We urge all players to finish remaining games, up to and including semi-finals in the next 10 days.
We will then re-arrange finals day for end-August, early-September to maximise the presence of all players. If matches aren't played, we'll toss a coin to decide finalists.
Christine, Matthew
