It is Springtime, and the Club looks just great, thanks to the work of many the volunteers and staff.  So it is time to have fun and show off our Club to our friends.

On May 17^th, we will be hosting “The Standard Athletic Afternoon”, with all of the Club in use for this event.

  * Fun from 12:30 onwards
  * Come dressed in your interpretation of “Country Club Chic”
  * For those arriving before 3 pm, a wonderful BBQ prepared by L’Entente (le British Brasserie) is included in the pre-3 pm ticket price
  * Events throughout the day
    - For kids, sports, bouncy castle, … and an afternoon disco
    - For adults, live music and DJs, running all the way through to the sunset afterparty
    - Of course, our very own bars (Queen’s Room and marquis), with our British beers, Pimms, and more
    - Snacks, strawberries and cream, ice-cream, …

On Saturday 26 April at 11:15 – 12:15, there will be a trial yoga class for children.
Octavia (a born and bred Londoner) from Yogaventuriers https://yogaventuriers.carrd.co/ will be coming and teaching in English. The class will be designed around a story to keep little minds focused. First, a book reading, then going through the story using yoga poses and movement. The classes are lighthearted and fun, getting kids moving in a focused way that they can carry over to different activities. The kids get to practice their English with a native speaker and we all benefit from moving our bodies in a creative way.
Please let know if your child would like to attend. We will provide yoga mats, and this trial class is free for members. If it goes well, we hope to introduce a class every Saturday from September.

The next Brunch with the Little Musicians/Petits Musiciens will be Sunday, 27 April.
Don't forget that if a child is signed up for Breakfast/Brunch together with a parent, they have free access to the 1.5-hour class. If you don’t want to sign up for breakfast/brunch, it is €25 per child for the class. Payment will be via this HelloAsso link from 18 April.

On Sunday 27 April, we will be celebrating Easter with the children. To participate in the Arts and Crafts workshop and Easter Egg Hunt, please register using this registration link.

To celebrate the opening of the clay tennis courts and mark the start of the spring-summer tennis season, please sign up for the Sunday 27 April round-robin social tennis tournament.
All adult tennis-playing members are welcome. It's a round-robin, mix-in format, so everyone is guaranteed plenty of fun doubles tennis.
Your master of ceremonies on the day is the irrepressible Philippe Ayme-Jouve.
The tournament starts at 10:30. Please arrive on time in your best tennis whites - SAC tennis dress code applies.

We will visit the Golf d’Ailette (Chemin des Dames, 02860 Chamouille - some 150km northeast of Paris) for our Spring Golf Weekend on April 25th, 26th and 27th. The Weekend is open to all SAC members. For information and reservations, please get in touch with Claude Jacques at  as soon as possible.

It's time to sign up!
Registration is open for the SAC Internal Tennis Tournament, which will run from the week of 28 April until Finals Day and prizegiving on Saturday, 28 June.
Members (16yrs +) are welcome to sign up for the singles and/or doubles draws using this link or the QR code in the main article. There's a five euro entry fee each for doubles and 10 euros for singles.
The entry deadline is 6 pm on Sunday, 27 April.
We will adapt the format according to the number of players who enter each draw but expect that there will be a mixture of round-robin and knock-out rounds to make sure that everyone gets at least a couple of matches.

As you know, we are rebuilding the swimming pool and want to organise a special event to celebrate the arrival of the spring season and to recruit new members.
Our chosen date is SATURDAY 17 MAY
Rasmus Michau, a member with years of professional experience organizing events, including summer parties, has volunteered to take the lead on this.
We will have a large barbecue on the lawn, fun & games, bands, and a DJ, catering for up to 1,000 people, half of whom would be potential new members.
Rasmus is setting up a committee and is looking for volunteers to take on one of the many responsibilities - see the main article for details.

Welcome to a traditional Scottish and Irish céilí / cèilidh ball in the elegant and spacious Clubhouse at the Standard Athletic Club in the forest of Meudon.
Dances will be explained and guided. Everyone is welcome, from experienced dancers to complete beginners.
