Long-term Members of the Club may remember Charlotte Fairbank, who “grew up“ at the Club in the 1990s, playing her first tennis there.
Sadly Charlotte, now 29, suffered a life-changing accident at the age of 15. Her story since then is truly inspiring. She studied International Law at Southampton before joining a law firm. In 2015 she discovered wheelchair tennis and started playing full-time, rising to a #3 ranking in France by 2018.
She is now training in Barcelona in preparation for the Tokyo Paralympics starting the week after next (and hopefully Paris in 2024). Charlotte is currently ranked #2 in France and in the top 40 of world players.
We are sure you will all join us in wishing Charlotte the very best for the Games.
