One of the wonderful things about the Club is the opportunity for kids to be in a safe place both indoors and outdoors in our “shared second home”. This does, however, come with a responsibility.

Over the past few weeks we have seen:

  • Repeated signs of children throwing stones near the building, with the glass on the door from the entrance to the ping pong area being broken in February, at a repair cost of over €1000.
  • Kids playing in the hedges and leaving behind damage to be dealt with by our staff (branches, broken fences, etc.).  Please note also that there are areas of the hedge which have barbed wire in order to protect the perimeter of the Club from break-ins.  The hedges are not a play area and could be dangerous for kids.
  • The upstairs playroom being left more like a bomb site than a playroom.

It is normal for kids to make a mess occasionallyWhat is not normal is that their parents are not overseeing them and cleaning up after them.  There has been a major increase in the activities for young families (thanks, in particular to Sarah for organising all of this).

Let’s please combine this increase in activity with respect for all the people who use the shared indoor and outdoor spaces at the Club, and for our staff who maintain it.
