C’est la rentrée. We hope everyone had an enjoyable summer.
We have a busy September planned at the Club:
- The last chance to play our favourite summer sports
- Swimming in our new pool
- Tennis on our clay courts
- Cricket, with games for another 4 weeks
- As the kids go back to school, plenty of things for them to do at the Club
- Tennis Ambition on Wednesday’s, including a shuttle service from Paris
- Regular sports trainings
- Les Petits Musiciens on Sundays from 28th September
- Le Cavalier Rouge will be back to give chess lessons
- The beginning of football training on Saturday’s
- Rubgytots to be launched very soon
- Classic Car Day on 21st September … a perfect opportunity to invite your friends to the Club as guests (free entry, cars, food, bouncy castle, …)
The Management Committee met for the first time since the break on Tuesday 2nd. “Hot topics” for the coming weeks include managing the insurance claims and repairs from this summer’s storm, which destroyed the marquis and caused serious damage to other installations (including tennis court fencing and lighting). Some of the repairs (tennis) can only be started once we know exactly how much our insurers will pay and when we will receive it. We have been able to arrange replacement of the marquis, which is required for Classic Car Day and some events which bring revenue to the Club. Tuesday’s MC did also authorise replacement of the squash court roof, at cost of around €11K. This will repair a longstanding problem while also eliminating a possible cause of water damage to the squash courts.
September also marks the beginning of our subscription year. Thanks to everyone who has already paid their subs (and to the Subs team (Roland D, Roxane, Gigi, Sylvie and summer staff)). For those who have not yet done so, this is a gentle nudge. As discussed at the AGM, it is enormously helpful to get early visibility on Membership for 2025/2026 so that we can refine the budget and plan any capital improvements.
Looking forward to seeing you at the Club.
