On Sunday the 26th of May, SAC hosted Francilien CC for a 30-over game. After losing the toss and asked to bowl first, SAC never even got a sniff of victory in what turned out to be a fairly one-sided game.
We had our first game of the Season on Sunday, the 5th of May against the British Embassy, which SAC Won by 15 runs.

The scores (gross and net) of the 54 players in yesterday's Spring Cup copied from the FFG may be seen in the main article. Congratulations to Louis Anceaux, overall winner of the Castrol Cup, with a gross score of 34 points and to Spring Cup (Best Net) winner: Bernard Mazadier (40); Financial Times Cup (Best Ladies' Gross): Prudence Jones (19) and Best Ladies' Net: Caroline Bahin (41). The best SAC scorer was Emile Freiha with 36 net / 21 gross.
The ALT's team at home against Clichy and after some very exciting matches emerged victorious 2-1. The team is now through to the quarter-finals and next week they'll be playing at home against Clamart on Thursday 23rd.
The Golf Section held its AGM last Friday 10th May, during which the 6 stalwart committee members were confirmed. This Saturday is the 39th Spring Cup at Villarceaux; the Section's next major event will be the President's Cup on the 6th of July. The Autumn Weekend, organised by James Moore, will be at the Golf de Touraine over the weekend of the 26/28th September. Read on to see some photos taken at the recent Golf Weekend outing to Dieppe.
Warm congratulations to the big winners of Tuesday's tournament: in East-West Annick Gruselle and Alain Raynaud with 67.5% and in North-South Joyce Jaques and Joan Cosgrove with 60.62%! Very good play too by the 2 pairs who tied for 2nd place in NS - Ian Jones and Jean-Philippe Loyer and Jean Palfrain and Ghislaine Dubau with 57.5% and in EW Sally Buswell and Jenny Pratt with 56.88%.

Followed on June 4th by Prize-giving, Dinner and traditional Individual Tournament (a 'more the merrier' event open to players of all levels and great fun). The next Dinner/Tournament is on Tuesday 7th May. The next Bridge for Beginners session is on Thursday 9th May, and the May Workshop is now on Friday 24th May.
The Spring Golf Weekend featured a visit to Dieppe last weekend, 26th-28th April. The Saturday competitions, the Kiwi Cup and Dean Trophy featured a win for the course and the weather over the 18 participants - the competitions were reduced to 9 holes although some brave souls did complete 18! Sunday's scramble was played under better conditions and the sun even appeared occasionally!
Open singles: Roland Tchertoff beat Paul Willey in 3 frames to 1 in a 5-frame match last Saturday 27th. Earlier In the day in the Open Doubles, Andrew Taylor & Roland Tchertoff beat Paul & Joris Willey in 3 straight frames. In the Veterans, James Moore retained his champion's title by beating Ian Jones. The Prizegiving ceremony will take place during the Flamenco Evening on Saturday 11th May.

It has been decided to postpone the Snooker Dinner and join up with the Flamenco Fun evening on Saturday 11th May to give everyone time to get over the holidays! Open Singles and Open Doubles Finals will still take place this Saturday 27th! In the Open Doubles on Thursday night, Andrew Taylor & Roland Tchertoff beat Benjamin Sharp & Michael Jayet and will meet Paul & Joris Willey on Saturday.
Golfers are about to spring into action now the fine weather's here! First, there's Spring Outing to Dieppe the last weekend of April, then the Section AGM (followed by dinner) is on Friday 10th May, and, rounding off the Spring events is the annual Spring Cup competition at Villarceaux on Saturday 18th May.
Team 2 played their last match of the season against La Garenne last night and, unfortunately, because they could only find 3 players, lost 3/2. They finish 7th in their league of 11 teams.
Last Sunday was the last adult Football game of the season to be played at home. It was a very entertaining game against Les Italiens, who unfortunately won 5-2. That really wrapped up a most enjoyable season, with the membership looking healthy and having a great atmosphere among our own players and with our opponents. We have another away game on the 26th May away in Chaville against Los Pipos.
Team 2 had a good 5/0 win at home against Les Ulis. Looking forward to their next and last match next Thursday at La Garenne.
