Cricket News - Sat 29th June SAC vs Australians in Paris

The SAC Cricket Section cordially invites one and all to welcome the Paris Cocks Australian Rules Football Club for a T20 Cricket game + Barbecue on Saturday 29th June. As for the recent South African Bring and Braai, bring your own Meat/Salads/Desserts for a typical Aussie Barbie! This will be accompanied by all the trimmings including lashings of Amber Fluid! There is a 5 Euro charge to obtain the event-specific identification bracelet.

Golf News - 2nd June

First please note that the Centenary Cup against Villarceaux has been postponed until the 19th October. A section competition will be held on the 22nd of June instead. The 2019 Mixed Matchplay is on its way (see current state here). (First round matches should be finished by the end of June. 

Bridge News - 5th June - Prize-giving / Dinner / Tournament

Highlights of the evening included the top two spots of the Natanson Cup going to the Jacques - Joyce (1st 38 points) and Claudes (2nd 37 points). Anne Raynaud gained top honours in the Tournament with 59.52%, with Verzella and Claudia tied for 2nd place. 

Junior Cricket News - 1st June - SAC vs British School

The Junior Cricketers hosted the British School of Paris for what was intended to be a Twenty20 match on Saturday. With long weekend holiday absences, both sides were so heavily depleted that a double wicket competition was played instead, with local pair Finlay and Logan winning the day

Cricket News - SAC cricket tour to Kent - 25-27th May, 2019

The SAC cricket team enjoyed its 10th annual cricket tour to Kent over the bank holiday weekend. Three matches were played, against roving Kent sides the Band of Brothers and the Shepway Stragglers on Saturday and Sunday, respectively; and against Smarden CC on Monday.

Cricket News 26th May - SACC vs Francilien CC

On Sunday the 26th of May, SAC hosted Francilien CC for a 30-over game. After losing the toss and asked to bowl first, SAC never even got a sniff of victory in what turned out to be a fairly one-sided game.

Sunday 26th May - Notice to members - AGM quorum not attained

The Annual General Meeting of the Standard Athletic Club was convened at 3:00 pm on Sunday 26th May. However, a Quorum of eligible members was not attained and so an Extraordinary General Meeting has been called for Sunday the 30th June in its place.

Golf News - 19th May - Scores of the 39th Spring Cup

The scores (gross and net) of the 54 players in yesterday's Spring Cup copied from the FFG may be seen in the main article. Congratulations to Louis Anceauxoverall winner of the Castrol Cup, with a gross score of 34 points and to Spring Cup (Best Net) winner: Bernard Mazadier (40); Financial Times Cup (Best Ladies' Gross): Prudence Jones (19) and Best Ladies' Net: Caroline Bahin (41). The best SAC scorer was Emile Freiha with 36 net / 21 gross.
