CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR CLOSURE

As happens every year, the Club will be closed over the holiday period while our staff take a vacation and we complete the end-of-year audit of bar stocks, with the Club Censor, our internal auditor.
The Club will be completely closed from Tuesday, December 23, until Friday, January 2, 2026, inclusive, reopening on Saturday, 3 January
(Note that the Bar will be closed on Monday, 22 December)

Bridge News - 12 November Tournament Results

Click here for the Section and Nationwide results of our November tournament. There were several really good scores this time - Marie-Helene and Jenny coming 1st in NS, followed by Ghislaine & Raphael (63.39%), Josette and Remy (59.82%, Ann J. and Alain (58.63); and first in East-West Carole & Francois with 60.71%, 2nd - Claudia & Maureen (59.82%) and 3rd - Simone & Jean-Francois (56.85%).
Thanks to Maureen and Joan for their help with preparations, and to Carole Gressier and Christine Butterworth for the brilliant preparation of our cocktail!

Basketball Court

The backboard/net to the basketball court has been replaced as the final update to our brand-new court.

Cricket financials 2024

The SAC Cricket Section produces a financial report each year, detailing all direct Section revenues and costs. Please see the main article for details.

Junior Football

The SAC children's football coaches this year are Philippe and Eric; the coaching language is French.
On Saturdays, there are Mini football sessions for 5-8 year-olds, and from 8 upwards there is Junior Football.

Children's news: Musical workshop for kids (1-5) 11am Sun 13 Oct

The Académie des Petits Musiciens (https://academiedespetitsmusiciens.com) will be coming to the Club on Sunday 13 Oct at 11 am to give a musical workshop to 1-5 year-olds. It is for members only and free. The session lasts 45 minutes. We can form a group of up to 10 children but, if there is enough demand, we can split the groups into 1-3 years and 3-5 years (11:00-11:45 and 11:50-12:35) which would open it up to 20 children. Please email if you would like to join. 

Children's news: Checkers (Draughts) club

Parents are launching a Checkers (Draughts) Club for kids from 6 years old who want to play or learn. It will start at 3 pm on Sunday 29. For those who want to join and have checkers/draughts games at home, bring them!

Football News: 6 October - SAC Win 6-4 vs Pascal Gastebois XI

SAC’s footballers kicked off the 2024-25 season with a well-deserved 6-4 victory against the Pascal Gastebois XI on Sunday as a good mix of youth and experience proved a winning formula. More details and photos in the main article.

This year's Autumn Vase, an individual Stableford competition, will be held on Saturday, October 12, at the Villarceaux Golf Club.

Taekwondo

The Club is offering this sport to our Members, both adults and children, with a highly qualified coach from the St Germain Club (black belt, 8th DAN) giving classes. The Taekwondo Club of St Germain is one of the best-known clubs in Paris. Many children (from 4 years old), men and women, young people, and seniors, including black belts, regularly participate. Several champions, including members of the National French team, have been trained there.

We are happy to announce that Alexandra Lescure has joined the Taekwondo committee and is in charge of the kids' lessons held at 1:30 pm every Saturday. Feel free to contact her at

Tennis News - All Saints' Tennis and Multisport Camps

The tennis and multisport camps for the All Saints'/Toussaint holidays for children will run from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM from 21 to 25 October and from 28 to 21 October.
For Group lessons, there are still availabilities on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays for both children and adults.

Bridge News - 17 September Tournament Results

Big winners of the Section's Tournament were  - Richard and Leon in EW - with 62.5% and  Ghislaine and Raphael in NS -- with 60%. 2nd in NS: Nicole (Devaux) & Jean-Paul - with 55.83% and in EW: Jane & Hughette with 53.75%. (Click here for the full results.)

Golf News: Autumn Weekend Results Omaha Beach September 2024

This September's weekend was held this year at Omaha Beach Golf Club, Port en Bessin in Normandy from 13th to 15th September and was blessed with fantastic weather for the full 3 days.
The Kiwi Cup (best net score) and the Dean trophy (best gross) were both won by Frédéric Thiriet with a magnificent 39pts and 16pts respectively.
Ian Jones and Muriel Jones won 2nd and 3rd place net respectively with 35 and 34pts.


Golf News: Summer Eclectic - July/August 2024 - Winners

The Section's Summer Open Eclectic Competition is open and running from 1 July to 30 August at the Villarceaux Golf Club.
Participants submitted 6 scorecards during this period from which a best composite score was calculated. The winners were:

Tennis Coaching - Signing up for the 2024/25 Season

Here's a new message from our coaching team about the start of the new coaching season.

To introduce ourselves and to start the season 2024/2025 in the best possible way, we would like to offer you a presentation of our Team’s coaches,  our structure, our teaching method and the various activities, tournaments and actions implemented.
We can't wait to start this new adventure with you, and we hope to see many of you on Saturday, September 7th at 7 p.m. at the club.
You have the possibility of coming for a test on Wednesday, September 3rd and Saturday, September 7th between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. with the coaches, to determine your tennis level and to be able to find a group.

General Conditions and Subscription Rates for 2024/25

ENTRANCE FEES

The following rates apply to the period from 01/09/2024 to 31/08/2025. 

An entrance fee is payable by each adult member when joining the Club and must be paid as soon as membership has been accepted. This currently stands at €1500 for Adult and Senior members (post-covid offer stands at €750) and €500 for Young Adults. U30 Young Adults pay €150 which goes straight to their bar account. Students, Juniors, Children, Infants and Institutionals do not pay the entrance fee. An ex-member who wishes to rejoin pays €100 for every year of absence. 

SUBSCRIPTION RATES

The following rates apply to the period from 01/09/2024 to 31/08/2025, with ages as of January 1 prior to the subscription year.
A yearly subscription rate gives the member access to the club and its facilities. Members who are accepted mid-year will pay a fee based on the joining date. Members are encouraged to pay for the full year in September, though may pay by 10 direct debit instalments over the year, but only after one full year of membership. You will find a SEPA mandate in the attachments and also the SAC's RIB for payments.

Membership categories

No changes of membership category may be made during the year except due to illness/injury or resignation from the Club due to professional reasons. The payment over 10 months is a commitment for the whole year.

FULL MEMBERSHIP
Applies to all Members using the main sports facilities (squash, tennis, cricket, etc.)
SOCIAL MEMBERSHIP
A social member may only use the facilities of the Clubhouse, the gym and the swimming pool.
ADULT
Applies to all Members over the age of 35 (inclusive on January 1, 2024) up to the age of retirement.
SENIOR
Applies to members who have both retired and have reached the age of 65 on September 1, 2024. Working seniors still pay the full Adult or Social membership rate.
YOUNG ADULTS (30-35 and 18-29)
Applies to Club members aged 30-35 or 18-29 inclusive on January 1, 2024.
STUDENT (18-25)
This applies to Club members, with a valid student card for 2024/25, aged 18-25 inclusive on January 1, 2024.
JUNIOR (11-17)
Applies to Club Members aged 11 to 17 inclusive on January 1, 2024.
CHILD
Applies to Club Members aged 5 to 10 inclusive on January 1, 2024.
INFANT
Applies to Club Members aged under the age of 5 on January 1, 2024. Subscriptions are payable in the first calendar year after the child’s first birthday.
ONE SPORT: CRICKET, FOOTBALL, SQUASH
This gives limited access to the Club. It is available for cricket, football, and squash. Use of the Club is restricted to the sport chosen, with access to the Clubhouse on that day only.
GYM, PILATES, STEP, YOGA
This gives limited access to the Club. Use of the Club is restricted to the activity chosen, with access to the Clubhouse on that day only, one session per week.
COUNTRY
This is reserved for Club Members residing outside the Île de France. Proof of residence must be provided. Country Members are entitled to 6 visits per year without fees. Use of the tennis courts is permitted.
PAUSE FOR ONE YEAR
Pause membership for a maximum of one year, readmission without entrance fee. Access to the Club is not permitted while on Pause (neither as a Guest nor via reciprocal arrangements such as that with the Swedish Club).
AU PAIR
One childcare provider accompanying children, in the parents' absence. The childcare provider to be nominated by Member: free access when with children. For childcare purposes only.
CHILD CARER
One childcare provider accompanying children, with parents present. For childcare purposes only.
INSTITUTIONAL
Shall have access to this class of membership via their affiliation with an international English-speaking institution (e.g., an Embassy or school). Where this affiliation represents the primary source of household income, this class of membership is also open to their immediate family (spouse, children).

GUEST FEES
An invited guest may visit the Club 6 times over a Season. Put name into guest book and pay fee. After 6 visits they are obliged to take up membership of the Club. House guests are at the discretion of the Management Committee. Inviting a guest from 6pm - 8pm is free in the winter.

Tennis Doubles Tournament Results - 28/29 June

The Finals were played over two days:
- Mixed Doubles Final on Friday at 7 pm: Clotilde & Arnaud Paquier defeated Maximilien & Georgina Marrisson. 
- Men's Doubles Final on Saturday at 4.30 pm: Philippe Vignal & Melvin Cooke defeated Raphael Imbert & Paul Rebaud

Bridge News - 21 May 2024 Tournament Results

Here are the "Section" results of our tournament: RESULTATS_20240521.pdf. In due course, the FFB will send the nationwide results of this Simultané Ronde de France. Well done to Anne (Raynaud) and Luc, 1st in NS with 59.58%! Judy and Jenny came 1st in EW with 62.08% and there was a tie for 2nd place in EW between Jane & Lucie and Dougie & Ian, both pairs scoring 57.92%; Ghislaine and Nicole (Doyle) coming 2nd in NS with 56.67%.

We are proposing Tuesday 18 June for the next tournament.. However, since there would appear to be many absentees, please let Jenny know as soon as possible how many of you can or cannot attend.

Bridge News - 23 April 2024 Tournament Results

The winners of Tuesday's tournament (23/4) in East/West were Nicole (Devaux) and Jean-Paul (Ruzé) with a massive score of 66.25% and in North/South with an excellent score of 58.75% Jane (Brooks) and Yves (Delserieys). Second in NS were Jean (Pal) and Nicole (Doyle) with 53.33% and in EW - Richard and Leon with 50.42% and, on their heels, Claude and Dougie and also Marie-Claire and Catherine (Boyer) with exactly 50%.
